Let me narrate you a story.
Once upon a time there was a school..very famous Millions of people loved to follow the happenings amongst students of that school. Amongst all the happenings there was a teacher..very knowledgeable but very particular about his values and rules of the school. He used to rebuke students for their undesired and unwarranted behaviour. One day he caught a student for a forbidden unethical practice during a exam. He penalised the student. Student was stubborn and arrogant. He declined to accept the penalty and refused to appear in the exam.The student was a spoiled brat of rich parents. He went to his parents and briefed them about the event. Now it was a matter of pride for parents. They went all out against the teacher using all their might and money. An enquiry was set up by school board. The might of the parents overpowered stance of poor teacher and the result was that he was sacked from the school.
His crime : Sticking by the rules of book and trying to save the spirit of profession.
