Saturday@office

"No" was her first reply

"I will decide" She said with little indifference

"I will tell you later" she said next time,

"Don't repeat" She said and went in to silent mode

The Result: I am in office on Saturday which is supposed to be leisure time.

Men Not Allowed

Its time of the year in Gujarat when you see Garba flare all around. You see big banners announcing an Garba event and you may find it written in bold letter " Male participants need entry passes ". This strikes my limited ability to understand and interpret such notions. I interpret it in terms of gender bias. Whats the logic behind asking entry fee based on gender.

Are we assuming that free entry for female species of human beings will attract them in huge numbers and male species will follow them to the event resulting in huge gains for organisers. Hell with that notion..!!

Amid all the so called "voices" for gender equality and equal opportunity, where does this concept fits in? I don't think this biased behaviour is prompted by inability of "Female participants" to pay. Mind you fairer sex has better buying power and decision making authority then the other class of human beings.

This strategy is not limited to such events, go to Goa and specifically to calingut beach. You find a inviting nightclub on the beach. Here males are addressed as "Stags". Same strategy is practiced here as well. Stags need to pay 600 INR to enter the place whereas females have the privilege to walk in and out at will. Bouncers will stare at you like you have perpetuated a crime by thinking of attending the club alone. I was able to pass through the hurdles and that is a different story all together.

Why do we have such double standards in dealing with such issues, knowingly or unknowingly we promote gender bias and then blame the whole world for it.

Grow up guys and give every one chance to live as one dies...without having to pay extra for the crime of being born male.

Happy Teachers Day

Hey everybody

Just wanted to wish all the teachers out there a very Happy Teachers Day. As i am writing a thought echoes in my mind, "What is the significance of this day in our life"? or it is just another way of naming day for the sake of it?.

Once i was asked during a interview "Who is your favourite teacher?" and i said "my parents" without waiting for a single moment. The answer was well justified and i was selected. But the fact is that i don't even remember any of my teachers with much fondness, may be at school level or college level or PG level. It doesn't mean to demean the contribution of all the people at different level of education in my life but i simply mean that there was no a single character whom i can look up to as idol.

It leads to another interesting aspect of our life, Do we have sufficient number of True Teachers in India?. Given the population of more then one billion, we should have a good number but may be i was not fortunate enough to get the opportunity to find one.

Finally just a thought that i read somewhere that

"Time is the best teacher but unfortunately it kills all its students"

Movie Time

A very friendly advice...do see "Lago Raho Munnabhai" as soon as possible and you will come back thanking me for the wonderful time you will have.

A true example of how a genuine effort can deliver a sincere message effectively . After a long time a hindi movie has come which is original and is enjoyale at the same time. You come out being a better person.

Comedy at its best. during some scenes you find the corners of your eyes wet and that too in a comedy movie. Thats what one calls magic of director's capability reflected through the effortless acting by great performers.

Great songs mix well with the movie and you enjoy every second of it. Slim editing helps the keep one grossly engaged durign the entire length of movie.

Best scenes come through our very own "Circuit" and the chemistry between his master munnabhai. Vidya balan looks beautiful ...she really is!!

Go and see the movie plz...i am planning to get another ticket for me..

Enjoy
